Wallets

Hold stablecoin and fiat balances for use across the Stablecoins API

A wallet holds a stablecoin or fiat balance and is the account every other stablecoin operation references — credit one, debit one, and move funds between two.

Benefits

  • One target wallet — incoming stablecoin payments credit your target wallet by default; change it at any time.
  • Fiat or crypto, same model — create a EUR/GBP/USD wallet or a USDC/EURC/USDT wallet the same way; the type is derived from the currency.
  • Full visibility — see balance, status and deposit details for every wallet you hold.

How it works

You create a wallet for a currency. The first one you create becomes your target wallet automatically.

Volt provisions its deposit details — a bank account for a fiat wallet, an on-chain address for a crypto wallet — and activates it.

Other operations reference this wallet by id: channels credit it, payouts and settlements debit it, and wallet transfers move funds in or out of it.

Rename a wallet or move the target designation to a different one at any time.
