Settlement scheduler

Automate recurring payments of funds from your Volt account to a trusted account

The Settlement scheduler lets you automate payments transfers of funds from your Volt account to a designated trusted account. Instead of manually initiating settlements, you can set up rules that automatically move available funds on a defined schedule.

All times and schedule execution are in UTC.

Business value

  • Operational efficiency — eliminates manual daily/weekly settlement tasks.
  • Cash flow management — funds are swept to your bank account on a predictable schedule.
  • Flexibility — supports different business rhythms (daily operations, weekly reconciliation, monthly accounting cycles).
  • Control — an optional minimum balance threshold prevents settlements of insignificant amounts.

How it works

Users must have the 1st party payments permission in order to manage the scheduler.

Configure a scheduler for an account via the Portal, choosing which account you want to set it up for.

Set up the rules — schedule type, time, and an optional minimum balance threshold. You can mix multiple scheduling rules of different types for the same account.

Volt automatically triggers settlements at the scheduled times, transferring funds to your trusted account through the standard payout process.

Scheduling options

Schedule typeDescription
DailySettles every day at a specified time
WeeklySettles on a chosen day of the week
MonthlySettles on defined days of the month, from the 1st to the 31st, at a defined time

For Monthly schedules, if a month is shorter than 31 days, the settlement executes on the last day of that month at the defined time.

When multiple rules become due at the same time, only one settlement is triggered per cycle. Volt prioritizes rules in this order: Monthly → Weekly → Daily.

Minimum balance threshold (optional)

You can set a minimum amount that must be available before a settlement triggers, preventing small, frequent transfers when balances are low. The system won't attempt the settlement if the balance is below the threshold or 0.

Example: You set a €100 threshold. If the account has €50 available at the scheduled time, no settlement occurs. Once the balance reaches €150, the next scheduled run settles the full available amount.
