Cross-border settlement
This section applies if you’d like to receive settlements to bank accounts outside of Brazil.
The IOF (Imposto Sobre Operações Financeiras) is a federal tax levied on credit, exchange, insurance, and securities transactions executed through financial institutions. The rates of the IOF can be increased / reduced by Brazil’s federal government by decree, often with such changes being effective immediately.
The rates of the tax on financial transactions (IOF) are dependent on the transaction type that you declare during the initial payment request. Current rates applied are:-
